Moon In June, a band at the forefront of the flourishing Japanese dream pop and shoegaze scene, continues to capture attention both in Japan and internationally.

Known celebrating Japanese pop culture and highlighting the Japanese indie scene, San Francisco-based label Tokyo Beatniks Record Label is releasing Moon In June’s next 7-inch vinyl. As part of a special project, this Disk Union (DIW) collaboration will feature two fan-favorite tracks: “Summer Pop '97” and “Robert.”

Side A’s “Summer Pop '97” is a radiant pop tune, marked by sun-drenched, sparkling guitar work and a nostalgic melody. With its breezy beat and uplifting chord progressions, the song naturally lifts the listener’s spirits and evokes a sense of bright, carefree joy.

On Side B, “Robert” begins with a quiet arpeggio, gradually layering delicate and wistful melodies that swell into a powerful emotional wave. Its intricate arrangement reveals new imagery with every listen, making it a deeply resonant and immersive track.

This 7-inch release captures the essence of Moon In June’s sound—a small yet vivid story that reflects memory and emotion, gently sealed into vinyl form.

Formed in 2018, the band released their first EP, "uminari," in 2020, based on post-rock, shoegaze, and dream pop. Their flood-like sound of light and noise has resonated with music fans both in Japan and abroad. In July 2022, they released their second EP, "evergreen," produced with new members, and in October 2023, they released their first full album, "roman to mizuiro no machi." Their diverse sounds include dream pop, alternative, and post-punk, and they feature nostalgic songs reminiscent of Spitz and Galileo Galilei. On April 23, 2025, they released their second album, "shikisai no Motainai," and will be holding their tour in Japan, "shikisai no motainai Tour," from May 3, 2025. Their first solo live performance in their career is scheduled for January 12, 2026 at Shinjuku LOFT.
